On Friday, March 17th, 2017 "Beauty and the Beast" premiered.  March 17th there was also a big to-do at Baker's Pub.  Both were things that I really wanted to do, but the workweek had taken its toll and I did neither of these things.  I went to bed!!

Saturday, on the other hand was a different story.  We wanted to see the movie in Brockville, Canada, but instead opted to venture out to Potsdam.  We found a Chinese buffet that held a lot of cars within it's lot; not had the capacity to ... actually had!  We took this as a good sign and wandered in.

Immediately we saw the fountain in the middle of the restaurant and the lit-up cherry blossom tree.  I took a spin around the block to see what foods I might be able to eat since I have put myself on certain restrictions and was almost disappointed until I saw ..... the other section.  There was a refrigerated display case with sushi and California Rolls!!! YES! This was amaze-balls! I tried so many different kinds of fish; tuna, salmon, yellow fish, shrimp.... the only thing I did not and could not bring myself to try was the caviar-topped ones.  Hey, I even tried seaweed salad!

After a delightful dinner, we zipped up to the movie theatre.  We thought we were early, but ... there were not many seats left in the place and it smelled oddly like a cross between popcorn butter and someone who had recently gotten sick, but that was at the back of the theatre.  Since most of the available seats were towards the front, we were fine. It was fine.

The movie was so much like the original that we all know and love, but there was a newness to it as well; some stuff not in the original that I am still kind of playing over in my mind to decide if I like it or not.   Overall, I can't wait for this to come out on DVD.  My little Belle seemed to like the cartoon version better at the time, but today she got right into character and wanted to play dress-up in a buttery dress much like the one Belle was wearing in her not-so-provincial life.

Now I really have to get out to Baker's Pub .... I heard I missed a great Guinness Dip. :(
