Hope: Father - Daughter Dance. Ogdensburg, NY

February 12, 2017 Patricia Trudell

A daughter's first love is her father.  A father's daughter is his little princess.  I've heard men say that daughters were God's way of punishing them for not being more honorable towards the opposite sex...to force them to think differently.  Joking or not, daddies agree that their little girls are blessings.

For this little girl, this Father - Daughter dance was a very big deal.  Her daddy lives a few hours away with a snow belt in between the two locations.  She picked out a dark purple sleeveless tank- collared gown with matching embroidery and beaded iridescent sequins with flowing organza layered in delicate sheer petals. Of course, it's wintertime, so a super soft white plush shoulder shrug with an ornate jeweled clasp; and silver high heeled shoes embellished with faux gems and jewels completed the main portion of this 5 year old princesses' dream ball.  An adorable  silver sequin purse with gold chain is perfect for holding her glasses, lip gloss, toy mirror, and a couple of stowaway Shopkins.  Although she did not wear it to the ball/dance, she had also received a tiara with purple stones to complete the ensemble.

Then ..... just a few hours before the dance, she wanted to try on the pink dress.

She opted for the purple and was excited to see her father in a matching shirt and tie (without the organza and embroidery) waiting to escort her to her first of many dances.
